Job Summary
The Tally Clerk is responsible for accurately counting, recording, and monitoring raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, and other products during receiving, production, storage, and dispatch operations. The role ensures that physical quantities match production and inventory records.
Key Responsibilities
- Count and verify incoming raw materials, finished products, packaging materials, and other goods.
- Record quantities received, produced, transferred, and dispatched accurately.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between actual stocks and recorded quantities.
- Monitor and verify the quantity of products moving in and out of the warehouse or production area.
- Prepare and maintain tally sheets, inventory records, and other required documentation.
- Check product labels, batch numbers, item codes, and quantities against delivery or production documents.
- Assist in monitoring production output and ensure quantities are properly recorded.
- Report shortages, excesses, damaged goods, or discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, logistics, and quality control teams regarding inventory and product movements.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities by verifying the quantity of goods handled.
- Ensure proper documentation of finished goods before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate and organized records for auditing and inventory purposes.
- Follow company procedures, safety regulations, and inventory control policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the assigned work area.
- Perform other duties related to inventory and production monitoring as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, vocational course, or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Tally Clerk, Inventory Clerk, Warehouse Clerk, or similar position is preferred.
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or distribution is an advantage.
- Good basic math and counting skills.
- Accurate and detail-oriented when recording quantities and information.
- Basic knowledge of inventory documentation and stock control.
- Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, are an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to perform inventory counting and warehouse-related activities.
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, weekends, or holidays when required.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
