KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 To ensure the company’s Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the organization.
 To monitor, evaluate and review Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and
implements new policies and procedures as required.
 To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training
as required.
 To support managers & supervisors to maintain safety systems, providing specialist advice,
coaching and practical support.
 To assist managers & supervisors implement safety systems and procedures to meet specific
requirements, such as accident report.
 To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety systems and procedures, and
identify and implement improvements.
 To investigate, or where appropriate, to assist to investigate the circumstances and causes of
accidents and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence.
 Oversee the preparation, maintenance and distribution of safety files.
 Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment.
 Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Proven experience working as Safety Manager
 Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety
 At least 5 years’ experience in OH&S at operational level in a large-scale organization,
preferably multi-site
 Professional communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence at management level
 Demonstrated knowledge of safety statutory requirements, regulations, codes of practice and
guidelines, and the ability to translate and apply these to a work environment
 Energy, enthusiasm and passion to work as part of a team
 Good Analytical Skills with an eye for detail
 Be able to work in a team environment/ under strict deadlines
 Capable of training subordinates for future succession
 Capable of working in a remote environment if required
 With Valid Driver’s license
