KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To ensure the company’s Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the organization.
To monitor, evaluate and review Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and
implements new policies and procedures as required.
To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training
as required.
To support managers & supervisors to maintain safety systems, providing specialist advice,
coaching and practical support.
To assist managers & supervisors implement safety systems and procedures to meet specific
requirements, such as accident report.
To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety systems and procedures, and
identify and implement improvements.
To investigate, or where appropriate, to assist to investigate the circumstances and causes of
accidents and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence.
Oversee the preparation, maintenance and distribution of safety files.
Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience working as Safety Manager
Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety
At least 5 years’ experience in OH&S at operational level in a large-scale organization,
preferably multi-site
Professional communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence at management level
Demonstrated knowledge of safety statutory requirements, regulations, codes of practice and
guidelines, and the ability to translate and apply these to a work environment
Energy, enthusiasm and passion to work as part of a team
Good Analytical Skills with an eye for detail
Be able to work in a team environment/ under strict deadlines
Capable of training subordinates for future succession
Capable of working in a remote environment if required
With Valid Driver’s license
