Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with all relevant departments to assure no deviations in food safety & quality standards in manufacturing operations.
- Partner with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Procurement, R&D etc. to align quality initiatives with operational goals.
- Identify technology interventions for improving quality control at Americana Foods.
- Documentation of all operational activities.
- Quality Standards
- Prepare training plans, training matrix and conduct the trainings as per the plan.
- Coordinate and support team on their daily activities and asses their performances.
- Prepare team duty schedules ensuring quality team availability throughout the operational hours.
- Ensure all inspections/monitoring are attended by quality team.
- Verify CCPs, oPRPs, QCPs and other process parameters to ensure food safety, quality practices are well followed.
- Conduct Risk assessment on facility security, food fraud, health, and safety etc. to ensure all possible risks are assessed.
- Communicate with Production, warehouse, logistics, procurement etc if in case of any non-conformity and to verify the action plans are effectively implemented.
- Customer complaint investigation and verify the corrective action plans are well implemented.
- Plan and execute traceability exercise, crisis management, mock recalls, intrusion drill. Review their outcome.
- Report discrepancies, errors, complaints, failures, or adverse events requiring review and action.
- Provide technical support to each of the plant level Quality Control units.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues on the floor.
- Maintain and update quality records and documentation.
- Train and mentor QA technicians and production staff on quality practices.
- Assist in reviewing and validating cleaning procedures, allergen controls, and sanitation records.
- Drive and facilitate implementation of Internal Quality systems by the vendors through technical guidelines, support and monitoring.
- Drive awareness of the employees in QA / Audit practices and standards both on the job and through classroom training.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or master’s in food technology (Food Science, Meat Science, veterinary science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Food engineer, or related field).
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably 1 year at a senior position in the Quality function in food industries (experience in meat/poultry industry will be added value).
