Job Overview:
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in the district cooling plant. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure, supporting uninterrupted cooling services to clients.
Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems including motors, MCC panels, VFDs, switchgears, generators, and lighting systems.
Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance as per the schedule to minimize downtime.
Monitor and inspect electrical equipment performance, identifying abnormalities and taking corrective actions.
Ensure proper functioning of power supply and distribution within the cooling plant.
Assist in commissioning, testing, and calibration of electrical systems for new or upgraded facilities.
Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and spare parts usage.
Follow safety protocols and comply with company policies, electrical codes, and standards.
Support other technicians (mechanical, I&C, chiller) during plant outages or emergency shutdowns.
Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend improvements.
Coordinate with supervisors and engineers for technical support and ensure timely job completion.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in
District Cooling Plants, Cooling Plants, Industrial Cooling Plants, Utilities, Power Plants, Water & Power (Water Treatment, Water Desalination
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Diploma in Electrical Maintenance , Diploma in Electrical Engineering , ITI, or related field.
