Job Overview:
A Chiller Operator / Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of chiller systems used for air conditioning and refrigeration purposes. This role requires a strong understanding of chiller technology, refrigeration principles, and the ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on complex systems.
Responsibilities
Installation and Commissioning
Install new chiller systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and design requirements.
Perform system commissioning, ensuring proper operation and efficiency.
Maintenance
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on chiller systems to ensure optimal performance.
Replace or repair defective components and parts.
Clean and inspect condensers, evaporators, and other system components.
Troubleshooting
Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in chiller systems.
Identify and address issues related to refrigerant leaks, electrical components, and control systems.
Repairs
Perform necessary repairs to restore chiller systems to proper working condition.
Replace faulty components such as compressors, motors, valves, and sensors.
Refrigerant Management
Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly.
Conduct refrigerant recovery, recycling, and recharging as needed.
Documentation
Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and maintenance reports.
Qualifications
With at least 5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
Experience working in any of the following: District Cooling Plants, Cooling Plants, Industrial Cooling Plants, Utilities, Power Plants, Water & Power (Water Treatment, Water Desalination).
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
Diploma in Mechanical or HVAC Maintenance, Mechanical or HVAC Engineering, ITI, or related field.
