Job Overview:

A Chiller Operator / Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of chiller systems used for air conditioning and refrigeration purposes. This role requires a strong understanding of chiller technology, refrigeration principles, and the ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on complex systems.

Responsibilities

Installation and Commissioning

• Install new chiller systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and design requirements.

• Perform system commissioning, ensuring proper operation and efficiency.

Maintenance

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on chiller systems to ensure optimal performance.

• Replace or repair defective components and parts.

• Clean and inspect condensers, evaporators, and other system components.

Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in chiller systems.

• Identify and address issues related to refrigerant leaks, electrical components, and control systems.

Repairs

• Perform necessary repairs to restore chiller systems to proper working condition.

• Replace faulty components such as compressors, motors, valves, and sensors.

Refrigerant Management

• Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly.

• Conduct refrigerant recovery, recycling, and recharging as needed.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and maintenance reports.

Qualifications

• With at least 5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician.

• Experience working in any of the following: District Cooling Plants, Cooling Plants, Industrial Cooling Plants, Utilities, Power Plants, Water & Power (Water Treatment, Water Desalination).

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.

• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.

• Diploma in Mechanical or HVAC Maintenance, Mechanical or HVAC Engineering, ITI, or related field.
