Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently collect patient specimens and perform record chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to assist the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to the highest standard of hygiene.
• Diligently maintain testing and laboratory records.
• Ensure highest level of standards and maintenance of quality control.

Qualifications

• Technical qualifications acceptable by the Papua New Guinea Medical Board.
•  Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position within a Medical Laboratory Environment
• Certified phlebotomy credentials or acceptable level of experience in taking patient samples
• Ability to work in a professional and cooperative environment with other medical professionals including doctors, pharmacists and clinical staff
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or associated discipline
