Job Scope:

Plans, reviews and admininsters accounting systems and procedures, analyses financial information needs of organization, provides advice on financial planning ang risk management, and provides management with reports to assist in decision-making

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports on a monthly basis.

2. Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts

3. Preparation of audit reports and coordination with Internal and External Auditors

4. Managing the daily operations of Accounting Section

5. Monitoring receivables ensuring timely collection 

6. Monitoring of payables and ensuring timely and accurate payments to local and overseas suppliers

7. Monitoring company finances making sure that use of overdraft facility is maximized but not exceeded

8. Managing payroll for the employees

9. Hiring and training Accounting Staff

10. Reviewing staff, identifying areas for improvement and trainings required. 

11. Other duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

 

1. Degree in Accounting or related Finance discipline.

2. Minimum 5 years' experience in similar Finance and Administration role.

3. Must be a current financial member of Certified Practicing Accountants in home country and will be required to register with the Certified Practicing Accountants PNG before commencement.

4. Understanding of PNG Labour & Employment Laws would be an advantage.

5. Working knowledge in using computerized Accounting systems, preferably Sage 300 (formerly known as ACCPAC) for Windows

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

7. Excellent business acumen, interpersonal & analytical skills.

8. Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain strong relationships with staff and management.

9. Good command of English language.

10. Results orientated and business driven.

11. Be resilient and adaptable to meet unexpected business demands and changing situations.

12. Approach problem solving & solutions in an open, understanding and pragmatic manner.

13. Demonstrate a high level of customer service and be team focused.

14. Proficient ability to drive a manual and/or automatic transmission vehicle. Must have a valid Class 1 driver's license.
