Job Description: Warehouse Worker
Position Overview: The Warehouse Worker is responsible for various tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining inventory and ensuring the warehouse is kept in a clean and orderly condition. The role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspecting Goods: Unload trucks, check in merchandise, and ensure items are received in good condition. Verify the accuracy of shipments by comparing packing lists to actual goods received.
- Storing and Organizing Inventory: Properly store items in designated locations in the warehouse, ensuring optimal space utilization and easy access. Maintain accurate records of inventory locations.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications. Ensure orders are accurate and packed securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Report discrepancies and assist in resolving inventory issues.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Documentation: Accurately complete necessary paperwork for receiving, inventory, and shipping processes. Use warehouse management software to track inventory and shipments.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and departments to meet organizational goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Forklift certification may be required depending on the role.
Skills and Attributes:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment.
