The Reinforcing Ironworkers
- Fabricate and place steel bars (rebar) in concrete forms (formwork) to reinforce structures. Place rebar on appropriate supports and weld or tie them together with tie wire. Select, cut, bend, position, and secure steel bars or wire mesh on the right position. They can read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work.
Requirements and skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a concrete structure field technicians (reinforcing iron worker)
- Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches for concrete structures
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Welding and cutting steels (any valid certification as an advantage)
- Valid driver’s license (an advantage)
- Prefer high school diploma or equivalent/higher
- Attention to detail and safety
- Experienced in tying / reinforcing steel and or post tension materials or both
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Desire to grow and advance within the company with commensurate salary growth (an advantage)
- Ability to work with and without direct supervision
