Position Purpose
The role of the Farm Manager is to manage and direct the daily operations of the farm. Oversee employees, production and efficiency, to make sure the farm is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely. Direct and coordinate, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities of workers engaged in agricultural crop production and management for future hatchery, poultry / livestock production.
Key Result Areas and Responsibilities
1. Analyzing existing operations, crops, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
2. Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations.
3. Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly/adequately restocked.
4. Determines procedural changes in drying, grading, storage, and shipment for greater efficiency and accuracy.
5. Inspects fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather.
6. Develop and keep financial and production records.
7. Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
8. Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
9. Assisting with the recruitment and training of new Farm staff.
10. Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
11. Management of any business expansion related to hatchery, poultry or any livestock production.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
a) Must be a graduate of any field related to the position.
b) Must have at least 5 years work experience on farm environment.
c) Must be responsible, reliable, hard-working and self-motivated.
