Responsibilities:

As a physical therapist, your aim is the extensive restoration of movement and functionality as well as independence after illness or accident, and pain reduction in the patient. In addition to therapy and rehabilitation, health promotion and prevention as well as palliative care are among the areas of activity of physiotherapy. Mental health is taken into account, especially under the aspects of "experience and behavior".

The physiotherapeutic process includes therapy from the physiotherapeutic findings to the definition of therapy goals and planning to the implementation of the individual measures and success monitoring by physiotherapists. In case of illness, a doctor's prescription for therapy is required. The measures used in physiotherapy include, for example, all types of exercise therapy, manual therapy, breathing, reflexology and ultrasound therapy, therapeutic massages, complex physical decongestion therapy or lymphatic drainage, electro-, hydro- and balneotherapeutic methods. In addition, physiotherapists are active in teaching, research and development.

The work setting is not limited to a hospital - you may be working in outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers or any other facilities where physiotherapeutic processes are applied.
